Oh Alfonso....How Brill Thou Art

Just got back from watching the third Harry Potter movie, and I must say I thoroughly enjoyed it. I especially enjoyed the new direction the movie took in style and appearance. Definitely fell in line with the progress of the story. While Chris Columbus did a great job on the first two movies, Cuaron was the perfect choice for the third installment. It was a darker, more serious, more dramatic HP, which, again, is fitting for where the series is at that point. Everything was great in the movie. I could not spot one deficiency. I purposely stayed away from re-reading Book 3 because I didn;t want to spend time comparing and pointing out what was missing like I did in the first two. I got to sit back and enjoy re-visiting the story. Michael Gambon was great. Carried on that Dumbledore air, but added a very cool twist to it. However, the little hair tie around the beard I could have totally done without. Gary Oldman...God, I wish he was in the movie more. I have yet to see anything he has done that has been. He is an AMAZING actor that, along with Johnny Depp, is totally underrated and ignored. I mean the man is just incredible.

I look forward to the next one. I read somewhere, but could not find it, that there was murmur of trying to replace the kids as they got older....um.....they are SUPPOSED to get older. HP without Radcliffe, Grimes and Watson would be....shit. Another rumor wax that Radcliffe would decide after the 4th movie whether he would return for the rest. What is he? Headless? Ugh.

And the band played on...
