And It's Into the Fire We Go
Well I can say that I am not surprised, although very disappointed in the election results. I am pissed that Kerry conceded before all the states had even reported their results. I am angry that this country lacks the common sense to realize that Bush is not good for this country and is going to end up driving it into the ground in the next four years. My only consolation will be that he will go down as the worst thing to ever happen to this country since the development of the A-bomb. I was amazed at all the states that voted for Bush but was not surprised. He is the poster child for every gun-toting, bible thumping, backwoods, ignorant, ethnocentric, slackjawed moron in this country. And it seems to be a rampant type. He is also the poster child for every rich person who would rather see the working class (the backbone of this country) get raped and pillaged economically while they continue enjoying the high life. Who knew being poor could be such a punishment. I am ashamed to say I want to be a part of this country now. A country that does believe in the ideals it was based on. A country that thinks that the church and state are the same thing. A country that sees war as a solution to the problems of fear created by mass hype. This country has begun its long journey down a very long path to hell and destruction. The derision by the rest of the world will be swift and great and no amount of basless criticism of those "foreigners" will heal any of the wounds. This is the beginning of the end for a short-lived and not-so-great empire. Sara sums it up best I feel:
